George was such a decent, honourable person. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I was very fond of George and I am so grateful we came to know him after we had moved to the UK from our last home in Umtali, Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia as it was when George and I were born a couple of decades apart). We came to know and love George's parents, Apsley and Mary Pellatt, to whom my family is related, when we moved to Umtali. Rest in peace, dear George. I shall miss you as I have missed your sister, Frances, and your dear parents of whom we were so fond.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
